Root Asus fonepad 7 (k012)

Asus fonepad 7 is one such device in which the bootloader is locked you can’t unlock it. So you can’t install a custom recovery. So no rooting???

No. Actually, you can root the fonepad by installing temporary custom recovery. Follow the steps carefully or else your device might get bricked

Requirements

Follow the steps CAREFULLY

Install “15 seconds ADB installer”. Go to the link and follow the procedure mentioned in the site download – 15 sceonds ADB installer .
Download the ” UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip ” file and copy it to internal memory >>> download-zip file
Download and manually install usb drivers for the device from
Click Here ( OFFICIAL DRIVERS)
Now Go to Developer option and allow USB debugging. If you are not seeing developer option in the settings….Don’t worry. follow the procedure: go to settings>>about>>Software information>> tap the “Build Number” 7 or more times. DONE!!! Now you are a developer
Once the USB debugging is allowed and the drivers are properly installed, go to recovery mode in your tablet and connect your tablet to the PC
Now to install temporary custom recovery, download the zip file from HERE and extract the file now open the “IntelAndroid-FBRL-07-24-2015.7z ” folder and double click on launcher.bat file in the folder. A CMD window will open.

Now type “ACCEPT” and hit enter
Now type “5” and hit enter i.e. choose CWM recovery mode
Type ” T4″ and hit enter (if not working try “T3” )
Wait for a while. Now the tablet will temporarily boot into CWM recovery mode.
Choose “install zip” from the menu and go to the directory where you have copied the .zip file and press yes.
Wait for a while and the tablet reboots and there should be an app (supersu) installed in the tablet. and your fonepad is now rooted.

If you have doubt about the process check your tablet root status by installing app called rootchecker from play store.
